Texas Rangers arrested a father and son from Wichita County on April 17 after criminal charges were filed against them in federal court, according to the Lubbock County Jail inmate roster.

James Darrel Reid, 65, was arrested in Wichita Falls. Randell Wayne Reid, 39, was arrested in Iowa Park. Both were booked into the Lubbock County Jail on a federal hold, with the Texas Department of Public Safety listed as the arresting agency.

In addition to the federal hold, James Reid faces six charges out of Lubbock County, including two counts of engaging in organized criminal activity and two counts of theft of oil and gas equipment over $100,000. Jail records show a recommended bond of $1 million on each of the six charges.

Federal indictment

Federal court records show a criminal case filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas in Lubbock names James and Randell Reid among nine defendants. A motion to unseal the indictments and arrest warrants was filed on April 21. Both men are scheduled to be arraigned in federal court on April 27.
